Nagasaki Peace Exhibition 2025 - Lela International has been commemorating the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan, for the past 46 years with an art exhibition at the Nagasaki Prefectural Museum of Art. This year will be the 46th anniversary that LELA will be inviting artists to contribute to the event with artwork advocating for peace, denouncing war, cruelty, and the d use of atomic weapons.
The title of this annual exhibit includes “8.9” on August 9th, which refers to the date the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. It was especially significant to the founder of the LELA Art group, Mr. Hideo Sakata, who, as a 10-year-old native of Nagasaki at the time, survived this horrific event.
